Lakeview Montessori School was founded by Ms. Janice Mayhew, who introduced Montessori education to the local community and later established the Lakeview Montessori Teacher Education Program.

Lakeview Montessori School sits on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, which includes the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie. We respect the longstanding relationships with First Nations people in this place and we are grateful to work, learn and live in this area.

To recognize the land is an expression of gratitude and appreciation to those whose territory you reside on and a way of honouring the Indigenous people who have been living and working on the land from time immemorial.
