Connection to Lakeview: 7 years- children are currently in Intermediate 2, Junior 3 and Casa 4
Why I joined the Parent Involvement Committee: I joined this committee to help be a voice to parents, a place to build community and help bridge the gap between the school and parents. I have been volunteering at various events at the school for most of the 7 years that I have been at Lakeview and have developed relationships with other parents and school staff and teachers. I like the community feel at the school and very excited to help build and lead this committee this year.
What I bring to this committee: I feel I can help other parents with connections throughout different levels within the school. My middle son was in the very first infant program, and I have children got through each level of the school up to the Intermediate program. I feel like we have all had times where we don’t know who to connect with on certain matters, looking for connections to help us build a community with other parents at the school and know what children are working on and how to best help them.
Fun Fact: I am an avid reader and always have a book with me everywhere I go. I prefer reading physical copies but also have audiobooks and ebooks readily available on my phone too.
