  • Elementary French Guide

    Position: Elementary French Guide

    Lakeview Montessori School seeks an experienced French Guide. We are seeking a dynamic and kind-hearted teacher who has a love for children and whose primary goal is to nurture and inspire each student. The ideal candidate will develop their students’ unique learning needs with care and thoughtfulness while incorporating a holistic and balanced approach to teaching that includes strong academics and the development of social and emotional skills.

    The ideal candidate should be confident in using technology and have an aptitude and interest in learning new applications and software. 
     
    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Design and facilitate learning experiences that support the individualized learning needs of all students
    • Work collaboratively within the French Department to plan and deliver a creative and engaging French language program to students
    • Develop a safe, caring, and engaging learning environment that is grounded in LAKEVIEW core values of respect, inclusivity, inquisitiveness, and kindness
    • Monitor, provide feedback and assess student learning using a range of tools and strategies
    • Write authentic report card comments
    • Communicate effectively and regularly with colleagues, students, and their families
    • Attend and participate in school functions and events
     
    Qualifications experience and attributes:
    • Demonstrated French language teaching experience
    • Strong oral and written French language skills
    • Knowledge of AIM Language Learning or a willingness to attend training
    • OCT or Montessori Diploma (MACTE or AMI training centre) is preferred
    Non-Negotiables:
    • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C
    • Up to date Immunization Health Screening/Record
    • Required annual documents

    Financial Details: $2070.00 - $2248.00 bi-weekly 30+ hours a week.

  • Elementary Technology and Coding Teacher

    Position: Elementary Technology and Coding Teacher 

    We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Technology and Coding guide to join our elementary school team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology such as robotics (FLL), computer science, and coding, with a focus on delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons to young learners. 
     
    Responsibilities:
    •  Develop and implement a curriculum for teaching technology and coding concepts to elementary school students. 
    • Create hands-on, interactive activities and projects to introduce coding languages and fundamental computer science principles. 
    •  Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. 
    • Collaborate with other educators to integrate technology and coding lessons across various subjects in the elementary school curriculum. 
    • Assess students' progress, provide feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
    • Create individualized learning goals and tailoring plans to fit each students’ individual needs.
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in technology education to enhance teaching methodologies. 
     Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
    • Teaching certification and relevant experience working with elementary school students.
    • Proficiency in programming languages suitable for young learners.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage and motivate young learners. 
    • Passion for education, technology, and fostering a love of learning in children.

  • Occasional ECE/Montessori Guides

    Lakeview Montessori School is looking for occasional ECE/Montessori Guides. This person should be a dynamic and kind-hearted teacher who has a love for children and whose primary goal is to nurture and inspire each student. 

    Applicants must have experience working with children 6 weeks to 6 years of age.  The successful candidate should be patient, enthusiastic and have the ability to work in a Montessori environment. 

    The candidate must have Standard First Aid, Infant and Child CPR certificate and current VSC Police Record Check.

  • Physical Education Guide

    Position: Physical Education Guide

    Lakeview Montessori School seeks an experienced Physical Education Guide. We are seeking a dynamic and kind-hearted educator who has a love for children’s mental health and well-being  and whose primary goal is to nurture and inspire each student. 

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Plan, coordinate, document, and execute a Physical Education curriculum filled with a wide variety of activities, such as physical fitness, sports, games, individual and recreational activities.
    • Plan, coordinate, and document with the Athletic Director after-school sports clubs and activities.
    • Communicate with classroom teachers and administration any concerns that may affect any student’s well-being.
    • Maintain a clean environment throughout the gym, gym storage room, school, and surrounding area. Maintain materials, manuals and equipment and keep a current inventory of all required supplies to run the Physical Education program effectively.
    • Report and document student progress in Physical Education in a report card format.
    • Attend designated staff meetings, parent workshops, weekend open house, parent teacher conferences and school promotional events as scheduled by the administration. Attend professional development activities.
    • Provide supervisory duties in the broader school community, which may include supervising field trips, lunch coverage, and recess supervision
    • Coach and organize co-curricular teams and house leagues with the Athletic Director 
    Qualifications experience and attributes:
    • Additional qualifications in Physical Education
    • NCCP Certifications an asset
    • Specialized experience teaching Physical Education an asset (ages 3-12)
    • A commitment to the Montessori philosophy
    • A history of being a collaborative team player committed to the extracurricular life 
    • A proven professional approach and work ethic
